When using NUBAN verify, you may encounter scenarios when the NUBAN you requested has no BVN tied to it. This can happen due to a couple of reasons:
- The NUBAN belongs to a Tier-1 account, with minimal details.
- The NUBAN belongs to a corporate account, with no BVN.
- The financial institution did not return a BVN.
In these scenarios, the Okra API returns a
204 - No content response.
This response means that the NUBAN you verified is valid, but there is no BVN in the response payload. The Okra API handles requests like this free of charge, and does not debit your wallet.
If you still want more information about the account that the NUBAN belongs to, Okra recommends using the NUBAN Name verify endpoint. This endpoint enables you to retrieve additional details, like the users’ full name.
